ABOUT MIRAJ 

Valerie “Miraj” Dishong from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has a bachelor’s degree in the performing arts, and has lectured and performed at Harrisburg Area Community College, Elizabethtown College and Lebanon Valley College. The director and choreographer of Troupe Miraj and choreographer for award winning dance troupe “Hayati”, Miraj was also commissioned to choreograph for the Pennsylvania Youth Music Theater.

Has been teaching Middle Eastern dance in the United States for nearly 30 years, and has made several teaching and performance tours of England since 1997, including a performance for members of Parliament. Miraj and members of her troupe have appeared on network television since 1994, and Miraj has appeared in a made-for-television movie entitled “Siege-Castles at War” which appeared on the Discovery Channel in 1998. The troupe has performed for countless arts festivals, and has been a favorite at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire since 1995.
